New Falling Frontier Gameplay Details Space Combat, Including Planet Bombing
Extensive new gameplay from the promising space RTS Falling Frontier has hit the web. It shows many gameplay mechanics.
Stutter Fox studio has released a new video from the space RTS Falling Frontier. It shows nearly fourteen minutes of gameplay footage and provides a good sense of where this project is going.
In the video, we can see both space combat and resource management. An improved unit construction system was also shown. The most intriguing section of the gameplay occurred at the very end, featuring a visually impressive planetary bombardment executed by ships in orbit.
Falling Frontier is coming exclusively to PC. The game will be sold on Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.com. Unfortunately, we will have to wait a little longer for the game as its premiere is scheduled for next year.
The new space RTS will enable players to engage in interstellar conflicts within a single planetary system that will be procedurally generated. The gameplay puts a lot of emphasis on ship design, military logistics, and conducting reconnaissance before attacks.
Despite the cosmic nature of the conflict, the battles themselves will take place on a two-dimensional plane (unlike, for instance, Homeworld, which focuses on battles in full 3D). Therefore, the game is expected to be an intriguing follow-up to older space RTS games such as Star Trek: Armada II or Conquest: Frontier Wars, providing a similar gameplay experience but in a more realistic manner.
