Yesterday's release of the REDkit tool for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was exceptionally well received by players. Fans of the Witcher universe can now use advanced tools to create their own mods and further enrich the presented world.

Some people don't need new quests or monsters to kill to find happiness. Sometimes it's enough... to return to the roots in a refreshed version.

Temeria in a new edition

Some players surpassed their own expectations by creating projects for a massive scale within the first day of the REDkit release. One of them is a NexusMods user known as AngryCatster, who introduced a huge location known from the first installment of The Witcher into the Wild Hunt.

Of course, we are talking about Vizima, the capital of Temeria, where we spend the lion's share of the plot of The Witcher from 2007, hunting Salamandra and solving criminal puzzles. The modder transferred the original map to the REDkit operating on the Witcher 3's engine, making minor visual improvements in the process.

All districts of Vizima visited by Geralt were included in the Wild Hunt, including the shabby Temple Quarter, the charming Trade Quarter, and the Vizima dike. The author points out that the entire project will need extensive fixes, mainly because of the unadjusted geometry and textures.

Players will handle the remake on their own

While Vizima is still in its early stages in the visuals of the latest Witcher, players are already thrilled with it. The map from the first installment looks surprisingly good and has the potential to improve even further in the future. Comments from satisfied users can be found, among others, on Reddit and under the above video.

Some people point out that CD Projekt should hurry up with the release of the long-announced remake of their first game. Otherwise, the community that has just received the perfect tool for work may anticipate them.

Seems that my yearly Witcher 3 playthrough slowly takes a new turn.

Nice, Witcher 1 Remaster by community incoming lol. Hope we can get a mod that combines all 3 into one game.

Feel free to download the mod if you're interested in seeing Vizima in a slightly updated appearance. It's worth noting that using this modification requires REDkit.
