Is Star Trek: Discovery Cancelled? Future of Sci-Fi TV Show Explained
Is season 5 of Star Trek: Discovery the last? We explain it.
Season 5 of Star Trek: Discovery will soon come to an end. We are just at episode 8, while episode 10 is expected to be the finale, so this season is a bit shorter than previous ones. Viewers are wondering if the end of this season also means the end of the TV series, so we decided to take a look at this topic and see what the future of this production under the Star Trek banner looks like.
This one, unfortunately, turns out to be disappointing for fans of the crew from this production, as season 5 of Star Trek: Discovery is to be the last. The decision was made back in March 2023 and surprised not only viewers, but also the TV series' crew and cast, who thought they would see each other again while working on season 6. However, Paramount has decided to end the run of this production, so we will soon have to say goodbye to it.
The crew and cast of Star Trek: Discovery, however, were given a chance by Paramount to properly wrap up the production, so there were reshoots that allowed them to make some changes to the episodes to close the story as best they could.
The task must have been difficult, given that the decision to end took everyone by surprise and they weren’t prepared to end Star Trek: Discovery already. We will see the results soon, as there are still two more episodes of the final season to come. We can expect their premiere on Thursdays on Paramount+. Star Trek: Discovery consists of 5 seasons, giving us a total of 65 episodes, which you can also watch on Paramount+.
