Hatsune Miku has appeared in Fortnite as a new skin and an icon of the 7th season of Fortnite Festival immediately arousing interest. Who is she, where does she come from, is she real? Players are curious about this character, created in anime aesthetics, who made her appearance in the online battle royale in January 2025.

So who is Miku? She's a virtual singer who was created using singing synthesis technology developed by Crypton Future Media. Its official mascot character is a 16-year-old girl with long, turquoise hair tied in two ponytails.

Hatsune Miku is a phenomenon who has conquered the web as a singer- synthesizer present in hundreds of thousands of songs. The virtual idol is the first Vocaloid created by Crypton Future Media, which gave her the code-name CV01 (Character Voice 01). She was followed in the Vocaloid series from Crypton Future Media by Kagamine Rin/Len (CV02) and Megurine Luka (CV03), who were distinguished by their concepts and vocal direction. Miku, however, remains probably the most recognizable Vocaloid.

Is Miku from an anime?

Poza tym miala duzy wplyw na postac Black Rock Shooter, która jest do niej bardzo podobna. Jest to bohaterka OVA, mang, anime oraz gier wideo.

Although Hatsune Miku's appearance was designed in anime aesthetics, she is not from the animated film and TV series. But due to her immense popularity, there have been references to her in various anime – Lucky Star, Baka to Test to Shokanju, Maria Holic, and Zoku Sayonara, Zetsubo-sensei. In addition, she had a big influence on the character Black Rock Shooter, who is very similar to her. She is the protagonist of OVAs, manga, anime and video games.

Hatsune Miku is also the protagonist of the manga Maker Hikoushiki Hatsune Mix by Kei Garo, who is responsible for Miku's appearance design.
