Iron Man From EA Motive Already in Production, Devs Reassure
The developers of the Dead Space remake have announced that the Iron Man game is already in production.
Last year, Electronic Arts announced plans to develop a game about Iron Man, one of Marvel's most popular superheroes. At the time, it was reported that the project was in pre-production. Now the developers, that is, the people from EA Motive, have revealed that the actual production of the game has already started in full swing.
- The information was revealed during an AMA session on Reddit, during which the devs answered questions from the fans. The event was mainly devoted to the remake of Dead Space, but the players also asked about Iron Man.
- Sending the game for full production makes sense, because once Dead Space is completed EA Motive can finally focus on another project.
- The studio's website has several job offers and three of them (sound programmer, AI programmer and senior gameplay programmer) are for the team working on Iron Man.
- There are many indications that there will also be a remake of Dead Space 2. So it is possible that EA Motive will spend the next few years working on two projects in parallel. Before that, however, the developers intend to go on a "well-deserved vacation".
For now, we don't know much about the Iron Man game. However, we are optimistic about the project. EA Motive has a very good reputation (except for Dead Space Remake the team has also developed the warmly received Star Wars: Squadrons), and the project is overseen by Olivier Proulx, the senior producer of the excellent Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. It is hoped that the developers will seek advice from BioWare, whose Anthem turned out to be a disappointment, to say the least, but the flying system in that game would be perfect for Iron Man.
In addition to the Marvel's Spider-Man series, Insomniac Games's big-budget productions under the Marvel license have not been successful in recent years. The failures include Marvel's Midnight Suns, Marvel's Avengers and the aforementioned Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. As you can see, however, this has not discouraged Electronic Arts. In addition to Iron Man EA is, in fact, also working on a game about Black Panther.
