In Command & Conquer Remastered Brings Back Dinosaurs
Jim Vessella of Electronic Arts presented a mission menu from Command & Conquer Remastered. By the way, he revealed that the hidden missions known from the original version of the iconic strategy would return.
After many months from the announcement of the refreshed Command & Conquer we still do not know almost anything about the production. Although there were many references to the game from the publisher and developers at Petroglyph, but they were basically limited to scarce information such as the appearance of the interface or the Tesla tank model. It's no different with the last entry of Jim Vessella from Electronic Arts on Reddit. The dev presented the new look of the mission selection menu and boasted that the Command & Conquer Remastered team has reached the next milestone in development. The devs were inspired by the menu from Command & Conquer Gold Edition, although they do not exclude changes based on fan suggestions. You can see the results below.
This is not a particularly exciting announcement until you look at the icons of the available missions. You can see here not only campaigns for both playable factions (GDI and Nod) and probably missions from Covert Operations, but also a fourth option with a Tyrannosaurus. The veterans of the cycle will certainly associate this with the secret mini-campaign introduced in the aforementioned expansion, in which we had the opportunity to encounter dinosaurs. This is confirmed by the words of Jim Vessella himself - he mentioned "a few extra missions that you may find familiar".
In the original, five dinosaur missions could only be accessed with the Covert Operations add-on installed and by entering a special code. The presence of the T-rex icon in the menu suggests that this time it will not be necessary. Another issue is that it is apparently inactive, which may indicate that we will have to unlock the campaign. Whether it will require entering a specific command, or the creators will bet on another solution, for the time being it is impossible to guess. So is the release date, which is still a great unknown.
