Ikea Always Ahead; PS5 and XSX Mock-ups Help Us Choose Furniture

The Ikea chain store decided to make quite an interesting move - it created mock-ups of PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles. They are designed to make it easier to choose a TV cabinet that will be able to fit a next-gen console.

The new generation of consoles was launched at the end of last year. Unfortunately, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are not among the smallest devices, so storing them can be tricky. The Ikea store chain decided to tackle this problem and prepared special mock-ups of PS5 and XSX. They are designed to make it easier to choose the right type of TV cabinets that can accommodate the devices.

A picture of the mock-up 9th-gen consoles prepared by a Scandinavian company appeared on Reddit, among other places. We will notice on it that the device features a detailed description - apart from the general shape, the walls present dimentions in millimeters and inches. This makes it possible to check in practice whether the device will fit into the selected piece of furniture.

At the moment, it is not known whether the PS5 and Xbox Series X mock-ups have made their way into shops all over the world or whether this is just a test project limited to selected countries. Ikea has not published information on this subject.
