„I don't care how good they are.” Monster Hunter: Wilds players refuse to use the best weapons in Capcom's action RPG

Players of Monster Hunter: Wilds prefer to use weaker weapons, even though they have much better options. It all comes down to looks.

Fans of the RPG genre love to have the most powerful equipment available in the game, which allows them to quickly defeat powerful enemies, and they usually strive to get it. However, something else is happening in Monster Hunter: Wilds, where quite a large group of players are giving up the strongest gear and sticking with something slightly weaker.

Looks over damage

We are talking about special types of weapons called Artian. We don't need monster fragments to create them; instead, we need relics that can be obtained in the most difficult quests in the game. The equipment offers great customization options and high base statistics, and it can also deal elemental damage.

So this is a very powerful type of weapon, but that's not enough for some players who think they are just too ugly to wear. On Reddit, we can find a thread with 14,000 likes and 1,200 comments dedicated to this topic, where some players complain about their projects. Of course, not everyone is against them, but it shows that Capcom should think about adding an option to alter weapon appearances in the game. In the case of World, such an option (Layered Weapons) was only brought by the Iceborne DLC.

Yeah, they certainly make me wish I could change the appearance of my weapon.

I don't care how good they are, I won't use them.

Fortunately, MH: Wilds offers a wide range of possibilities during combat, and we can even kill strong monsters using seemingly weaker weapons. So it's not a huge loss, and some of the players decide to do just that.

After the release of update 1.000.04.00, which solved the issue preventing quest progression, Capcom has already released another patch, focusing on bug fixes. By the way, on the game's website you can find a list of all known issues that will be fixed in the future.

Monster Hunter: Wilds is available on PC, PS5, and XSX/S. This is the fastest-selling game in Capcom's history, which sold over 8 million copies within 3 days of its release.
