Here's Hyenas; Mysterious FPS From Total War Devs Announced
Creative Assembly finally showed their new project. Hyenas is a network FPS in which players will be able to give the rich people of Mars a run for their money.
Creative Assembly has finally officially announced Hyenas - a new project we've been hearing about for a long time (we were recently reminded about it). The developer shared the first gameplay trailer; you can watch it below.
Space hyenas vs. the rich people from Mars
The title takes us to the world of the future - or rather, what's left of it. The Earth has long been devastated and the remnants of humanity live in a cosmic slum called the Flaw... unless they are one of the lucky ones who have made their fortunes living on Mars. Those don't have to - like everyone else - fight for survival.
On the contrary, billionaires spend their time satisfying their whims. For example, collecting valuable pop culture artifacts from old Earth, sold by giant so-called Plunderships.
There is only one small problem - the titular Hyenas, a band of individuals who have set themselves the goal of making the Martians' lives miserable. The group constantly robs the plunderships, taking valuable loot such as Rubik's cubes and Sonic figurines.
PayDay minus gravity
Hyenas is a network FPS focused on team play, with characters having different abilities. Teams - or packs - will break into plunderships, defeating bodyguard clones and other obstacles to get to the vault of pop culture artifacts before their rivals. You'll also need to make a safe escape after grabbing your loot.
There will be many "hyenas" to choose from, differing both in personality and style of play. Other characters will appear over time. In other words, Creative Assembly wants to develop Hyenas over a longer period of time.
What should distinguish Hyenas against the background of many similar games (beginning with PayDay series), are 0-G zones, in which the lack of gravity will enable players to fly around the locations. The whole thing is also to be quite brutal, at least judging by the description on Steam. The first trailer, however, does not flaunt bloody violence.
Hyenas is scheduled for release on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The release date is set for 2023.
