HSR - Jing Yuan Materials for Ascension and Traces

One of the most anticipated playable characters in Honkai Star Rail, is finally releasing on May 17th. If you want to do some last-minute farming to be able to use Jing Yuan in battle in challenging content right away, check out our guide for a list of Jing Yuan materials.

Jing Yuan materials

While farming for Jing Yuan, keep in mind that the maximum character level in HSR is tied to your Trailblaze Level (player level). You will not be able to ascend characters to the maximum level cap, level up their Traces past a certain point or synthesize some advanced materials before you reach the Trailblaze and Equilibrium level indicated as required in the game.

Depending on your current progression, you may not have access to some of the materials in this guide yet. However, you can still gather lower-level resources in advance to Synthesize them later.

Ascension

Jing Yuan is linked to the Lightning element, which means that for ascension, he will need Shape Shifter's Lightning Staff. It can be obtained from the Stagnant Shadow: Shape of Doom challenge in Stargazer Navalia in Xianzhou Luofu. See the map below for the location:

The total number of materials you will need to ascend Jing Yuan to level 70 is:

1. 308,000 Credits
2. 15x Immortal Scionette
3. 15x Immortal Aeroblossom
4. 15x Immortal Lumintwig
5. 65x Shape Shifter's Lightning Staff

The Immortal Scionette can be obtained from the Assignment Root Out the Turpitude, and its upgraded versions can be made or traded for other materials in the Synthesize tab. The material can also drop from Mara-Struck Soldiers in Xianzhou Luofu maps or in Simulated Universe, or be traded for in Embers Exchange.

Traces

As a character on the Path of The Erudition, Jing Yuan needs Key of Inspiration, Key of Knowledge or Key of Wisdom to level up his Traces. These materials can be farmed from the Calyx (Crimson) Bud of Erudition located in Rivet Town on Jarilo-VI, Synthesized, or bought in some shops or Embers Exchange. It can also be obtained as an optional reward from Nameless Glory (Battle Pass in HSR).

The total number of materials you will need to level up Jing Yuan’s Traces to the maximum level is:

1. 3,000,000 Credits
2. 42x Immortal Scionette
3. 56x Immortal Aeroblossom
4. 58x Immortal Lumintwig
5. 18x Key of Inspiration
6. 69x Key of Knowledge
7. 139x Key of Wisdom
8. 12x Destroyer’s Final Road
9. 11x Tracks of Destiny

Destroyer’s Final Road is a material obtained from Echo of War: Destruction’s Beginning in the Supply Zone in Herta Space Station. Echo of War can only be cleared 3 times per week. Location below:

Meanwhile Tracks of Destiny is an item obtained from Simulated Universe, Level Rewards, Nameless Honor (Battle Pass) or bought in some shops in very limited quantities. While scarce, Tracks of Destiny are used to level up Traces for all playable characters in HSR so far, so you should use them carefully. As a powerful AoE DPS, Jing Yuan is a good choice to prioritize.
