Nordic Ashes: Survivors of Ragnarok is a roguelite bullet hell where you progress through 9 realms inspired by Norse mythology and strengthen your hero to take on new hordes of enemies. You can add variety to your playthroughs by unlocking exclusive skills and weapons for each survivor and creating varied builds with Constellations and Mastery Trees. How to Unlock Kaos in Nordic Ashes
In the post announcing the launch of Nordic Ashes: Survivors of Ragnarok on Steam, the developers claim that because Kaos is a secret character, they will not reveal anything about it. However, there is actually a hint to unlocking the survivor in the Achievements list in the game. You can identify it by the small icon of Kaos on the right side next to the text. It reads:
Dance to the most famous cheat code in the realm of video games. It will give you the answer.
If you’re familiar with retro gaming, you might guess what to do from this clue. However, if that doesn’t ring any bells, read on, as we will explain exactly what to do to unlock the character.
The “most famous cheat code” refers to the so-called Konami code, also known as 30 lives code or Contra code, which was first implemented in 1986 in the scrolling shooter Gradius for the NES console. Since then, it appeared in many games from Konami and other studios. It was entered by pressing the following keys:
Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, sometimes followed by Start or Select.
But how to “dance” to this code? You have to simply start the game with any character and move according to the directional inputs only. You don’t need the rest of the code. Since Nordic Ashes: Survivors of Ragnarok is a PC title, you can input it with the WSAD keys on your keyboard, as follows:
W, W, S, S, A, D, A, D.
Doing so will make your character look like they’re dancing, which is what the riddle refers to. Once you do that, the requirements to unlock Kaos will be fulfilled.
