How to Get Void Motes in NMS
Void Motes are a new currency added to No Man’s Sky in the Echoes update. In this guide we introduce ways to farm them effectively.
Void Motes in No Man’s Sky can be used to purchase Exosuit Technology, customizations, and parts of the Staff multi-tool. There are a lot of items to buy with Void Motes, and some of them are quite pricy. That’s why it’s important to focus on the method of farming that allows you to get the new currency the fastest. Here are the ways to get Void Motes and which one is the best.
How to Obtain Void Motes in NMS
There are three main ways of collecting Void Motes in No Man’s Sky, though one is more effective than others. These are:
- Pillaging from Wheelbarrows in Harmonic Camps – around 60 to 90 Motes per Wheelbarrow,
- Completing Outlaw Space Station Missions – around 200 to 280 Motes for some missions, only one can be taken at a time,
- Offering Assistance to the Autophage race – requires starting the They Who Returned mission. The most profitable option.
You can accept several missions from the Autophage at the same time. They offer a lot of Void Motes for completion, as well as increase your reputation with the race.
You can find nearby Autophage camps by charging the Polyphonic Core multi-tool and scanning your surroundings with it. Then, talk to every Autophage you see. You may have to present gifts to them to icrease your standing with the locals and unlock the option to offer your assistance. The presents you can give to the robots will usually be materials you get from scrapping ships.
The Autophage might ask you to collect or craft some items for them, defeat certain enemies, etc. The items requested can range from ship scrap to resources you need to craft using blueprints.
To speed up your quest completion process, you can install Storage Containers and Matter Beam technology on your freighter, to always carry a large number of materials and have immediate access to them. This way you will be able to craft items required by the robots right away.
