How to get Codices in Sid Meier’s Civilization 7

If you want to progress your Technology Legacy Path, you need to gather Codices. So, how to get them? There are a few ways to acquire this resource:

  1. Completing Nalada Wonder,
  2. Random narrative events,
  3. Some Civs can get them through Great People.
  4. A bonus for becoming a suzerain of a neutral city.

However, the most important source of Codices is mastering technologies. After you research technology, you can often improve it further. Read descriptions carefully, as in many cases, you will get a Codex for doing so. Additionally, you can get one book after acquiring “Literacy” Civic.

Codices does not count to the progress?

Remember that acquiring Codices is not enough. Later, you have to display them in your cities. There is a special menu for that. It is called “Great Works”. You can find it in the left upper corner of the screen. If you don’t have space, you need to build Academies and Libraries for additional slots. Remember that buildings can be damaged. If it is one holding a Codex, it will be unequipped, and you will have to add it manually again after repairing the structure.
