In Cities Skylines 2 your city will function properly if you provide it with electricity. Most cables are lied automatically under roads (highways and bridges are the exceptions). However, sometimes, you will still have to build them yourself. In this guide you will learn what to do when you get a notification “Power Line not Connected” or “Electric Cable not Connected”.

How to fix Electric Cable not Connected and Power Line not Connected in Cities Skylines 2

In Cities Skylines 2 you will generate two types of energy. Each of them has a different use.

  1. Low voltage is generated by wind turbines and power plants. It’s used to provide energy to residents of your city. Low voltage can also charge Emergency Battery Stations.
  2. High voltage is generated by power plants. You can sell it via Outside Power Line. In addition, you can also use it to charge Emergency Battery Stations.

You will see “Power Line not Connected” or “Electric Cable not Connected” when:

  1. The wires haven’t been connected to anything. Notification will automatically appear when you build the power plant or wind turbine. All you have to do is connect the building with the correct type of cable to the rest of the power network. In the case of low voltage, you only need to attach the cable to the road.
  2. You’re trying to connect wrong types of electricity. If you produce high voltage energy it can’t be connected directly to roads. On the other hand, low votage will not work with Outside Power Line. Electric Cable and Power Line transport electricity with different voltages. So, you must connect them to the transformer station first.
