Traits are unique characteristics that your followers possess in Cult of the Lamb. They can significantly impact their behavior, productivity, and overall contribution to your little cult and understanding them might be crucial for managing it. Unholy Alliance latest update added a bunch of new features, including the Goat Fleece, and several new traits. One of them, the Spy, is particularly undesirable. Learn what does that exactly do, and how to get rid of an unworthy follower before it's too late.

Cult of the Lamb – Spy Trait

The Spy trait is an especially troublesome addition introduced in the Unholy Alliance update. As the name implies, followers with this trait are essentially infiltrators within your cult. Here’s a breakdown of their conduct:

  1. Unexpected arrival: Unlike regular followers who require introduction, Spies join your cult unexpectedly. It's important to note that important followers will never have this trait.
  2. Betrayal: If let undetected for five days, the Spy will steal 10% of your coins and flee.
  3. Prison break risk: They might attempt to break out of prison and potentially free other followers, so it’s not the best way to deal with them.

Spies pose a serious threat to your cult. It's vital to uncover and eliminate them as soon as possible. They can't be re-educated, so once you've identified one, you must act decisively.

There should never be more than one Spy in your cult at a time, so you don’t need to worry about losing all of your coins.

Cult of the Lamb – How to Detect a Spy

Recognizing a Spy (especially when you have a hundred followers) can be challenging, but there are a few key indicators. The imposter will frequently engage in negative conversations with other members and often appear tired or disengaged.

If you suspect someone, try to isolate them by assigning a solitary task, like fishing or gathering resources. This will limit their interactions with other followers and reduce the chances of spreading negativity.

Keep a close eye on their actions while they’re working. If they constantly look exhausted, they might be a Spy! If you're certain of it, excommunicating them is the only way to remove the unwanted mole from your cult. However, be cautious, as innocent followers might be falsely accused.

Cult of the Lamb – Spy Quest

The Unholy Alliance update also introduced a dedicated quest involving a Spy. If you've started this quest and it abruptly ended without revealing the imposter, don't worry. The quest unfolds in stages, and the next part will start soon.
