SteamWorld Build is a combination of city and dungeon builder. The game is divided into two phases which complement each other. While you can build your city without problems, mines are dangerous. You can meet some hostile creatures there. One of them is a Worm. This monster can eat your workers. However, there is an easy way do deal with it.

How to Defeat Worms in SteamWorld Build

Most of monsters in SteamWorld Build can be killed by guards, especially if they are supported by some traps. It is your first line of defense. However, there are opponents which are too powerful for your people. To get rid of them you will need special machines. One of the examples of such creatures is a Creep (we have covered it in a separate article), the other is a Worm. Defeating this enemy is a tricky task.

  1. First of all, you have to build an Armory, big enough to upkeep machines.
  2. Once you complete this, build a Thumper in the range of a Worm.
  3. The Worm will disappear.

You have to remember though that if your Thumper will be destroyed, the Worm will come back. You can’t kill it. The best you can do is to keep it underground as long as the machine works.
