- One of the Japanese stores put up a new shipment of PS5 for sale;
- There were so many interested that the police had to intervene.
The latest reports from Japan show that shortages of PS5 consoles can cause problems and result in police intervention. Even in such an orderly country as Japan.
According to matomebu.com, law enforcement officers had to be called in to control an irate crowd looking to purchase Sony's latest console as a new shipment was put up for sale at one of Tokyo's Yodobashi Camera store.
Although the store's staff were prepared, offering a lotter with few hundred tickets to purchase the PlayStation 5 and thus minimising the chances of scalpers, they still failed to stop the crowd advancing on the registers. All this, of course, in the midst of the pandemic and state of emergency that has been imposed in Japan.
Sales of the new PS5 shipment were eventually canceled. People present at the spot reported that they had never seen such madness in Japanese stores. The crowd was so desperate that the main cash registers were dislocated by the advancing crowd.
