Horror Game Visage Collects Great Scores on Steam
Visage, the psychological horror inspired by the demo of Konami's canceled Silent Hill and developed by SadSquare, is receiving high ratings from Steam users.
Visage, a psychological horror game from SadSquare, yesterday left Steam's Early access. The devs never concealed their inspiration with the demo of canceled Silent Hills from Konami (also known as P.T.). Can the work of the Canadian team compare to the original, which involved the famous game designer Hideo Kojima, actor Norman Reedus and movie director Guillermo del Toro? The feedback from the players suggests that yes, yes it can. At the time of writing this news, 87% of Visage's 2737 reviews on Steam are positive (89% out of 183 if we consider only the last 30 days). According to the data from SteamDB, at the hottest moment of the day, the game was played by 841 people on Steam.
The players praise the disturbing atmosphere and emphasize that the title is really scary. Many of them directly compare the gameplay experience to the famous P.T. demo. In the review left by user Kwist we can read:
"This game is absolutely terrifying. If you were sad about the cancellation of Silent Hills and the removal of P.T. from the PS Store, this is THE game to fill that role. It mixes atmospheric exploration with genuine survival horror elements and resource management with random subtle paranormal events that make it nearly impossible to get comfortable."
The few negative reviews focus mainly on uncomfortable controls and occasional bugs, which the devs failed to iron out before the release of the game.
Visage was released on October 30, 2020 on PC and Xbox One. The PlayStation 4 version will be released with a slight delay, with the title appearing on European PS Store on November 1.
