Horizon Forbidden West Reviews - Sony Secures Another Strong Exclusive
First reviews of Horizon Forbidden West have appeared on the web. Industry media are quite unanimous - PlayStation received another excellent exclusive.
The release of Horizon Forbidden West is still three days left, but the embargo on reviews was lifted today, so the first opinions have already appeared online. For the most part, they are very positive. It looks like Guerrilla Games has delivered a proper sequel - bigger, prettier and simply better. I encourage you to read our review of the game by Giancarlo Saldana, and then take a look at how the title was rated around the world.

What does the second Horizon lack to perfection? According to some - a revolution. The second part of Aloy's adventures does not introduce a breath of fresh air, and "only" successfully combines exploration, combat and RPG elements. Reviewers agree, however, that the whole thing swims in a charming audiovisual sauce, and the story engages from the first to the last hour. In fact, after the finale we're left wanting more.
Unfortunately, just as in the case of the first game, many critics complain about the great soundtrack but awfully wordy dialogues in Horizon Forbidden West. Some have also pointed out that the side quests are too easy, making them seem pointless despite being well-written. A lot of critical words were also said about the climbing. One of the more critical reviews, posted on the Australian website Stevivor.com, also makes the interesting claim that the second Horizon is "the world's most linear open-world game". This probably refers to the fact that the title can be completed without doing any side quests.
And what else was praised - apart from the elements mentioned at the beginning? For example, rich customization options, which we wrote about last Thursday. Reviewers emphasize that lowering the difficulty level to the minimum takes a lot of fun out of the game, but they also point out that for a certain group of people this "very, very easy mode" can be useful.
