Holocure - Fandom Off in Skill Issue; Mechanic Explained
If you want to get Skill Issue achievement in Holocure, you have to turn Fandom off. What it is and how to do that? We have you covered.
Holocure is a small, free, indie game that turned out to be very successful. Seems like the mix of Vampire Survivors gameplay and popular Hololive characters was what the fans wanted. While the game is deeply inspired by the aforementioned title about vampire slayers, it throws its own mechanics to the fray and adjusts the climate to suit more the spirit of cartoon, internet figures. As the game is about fending off waves of mind-controlled fans, there is a Fandom mechanic that serves as a progression system in this action roguelike production. What is it? Should you turn it off? Let’s find out.
What is Fandom in Holocure
As most roguelite games, Holocure features a more permanent progression system that persists throughout the runs, which is called “Fandom”. This system allows your characters to gain bonuses at the start of the game.
There are four stages of Fandom Ranks – Newcomer, Fan, Oshi, and Gachikoi. Besides Newcomer, all of them grant bonuses to HP, ATK, and SPD. On top of that they also grant you additional skills at the start of the game. The last stage, Gachikoi, provides a bonus to CRIT too.
The Fandom can be unlocked by spending HoloCoins in the Achievements menu. The Fandom Ranks stages are granted for completing various actions during the game.
Fandom Off in Skill Issue Achievement
Fandoms are mechanics that make the game easier for you and let you fight more efficiently, though there is an achievement that you may want to obtain. To get the Skill Issue achievement, you have to turn Fandom off. It is necessary, as the trophy requires you to clear stage mode without having any Character Skills.
Of course, you must also remember that to get this achievement you can’t pick up any additional skills during run.
As already mentioned, Fandoms award you with skills at the beginning of the game, thus they need to be turned off in order to get the achievement. Do not worry, as turning Fandoms off will not erase your progress made towards them. After you get the trophy, you can safely turn it back on and enjoy the game with extra powers.
To turn Fandoms off or on, simply get to the shop and switch the desired option.
