Chamber of Secrets Referenced in Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy is a veritable paradise for fans of the Harry Potter universe. Avalanche Software's game includes, among others, a nice easter egg concerning the Chamber of Secrets. To reach it, you need in the ladies' room in the dungeon use the Revelio spell on the sink. Then you will see a tap with a snake symbol, like in the following screenshot.

Then you need to approach and add the collectible to your collection. Admittedly Chamber of Secrets is not directly referenced here and you can't get to it, but from the context we can conclude that this is the location the developers had in mind., and the player familiar with the adventures of Harry Potter will catch the reference.

The Chamber of Secrets is a secret place created by one of the founders of Hogwarts School of Magic and Wizardry, Salazar Slytherin. It is the habitat of a dangerous creature called the Basilisk, meant to rid the walls of the castle of those who, in Salazar's opinion, are unworthy of learning magic - such as those who are not of pure blood (so-called "mudbloods"). In the second of his adventures, Harry Potter had to face the Basilisk, which was controlled by Tom Riddle, or Voldemort.

Of historical interest: The Chamber of Secrets was at one point threatened with destruction - this happened when plumbing was to be expanded at Hogwarts (until then, wizards took care of their needs on the spot, and then took care of disposing of the waste themselves). The Chamber of Secrets was then saved by Voldemort's ancestor, Corvinus Gaunt. The plumbing was expanded, and the secret place remained.

Interestingly enough, in Hogwarts Legacy we also meet an ancestor of Voldemort named Gaunt, but we'll write about that elsewhere.
