Hogwarts Legacy Producer's Departure Unrelated to Controversy
Troy Leavitt - the producer of Hogwarts Legacy, who left Avalanche Studios at the beginning of March - explained his decision. The reason were serious family problems that would prevent him from devoting proper attention to the project.

- The developer made the announcement in a video addressed to colleagues at his former studio.
Some time ago, producer of the aforementioned title, Troy Leavitt, left the team at Avalanche Studios, the developers of Hogwarts Legacy. The departure was surrounded by atmosphere of controversy connected with the dev's statements on Twitter and YouTube, which were not to the liking of some internet users (in one of the posts he defended John Lasseter, a filmmaker fired from Disney in connection with accusations of sexual harassment). However, it turns out that the real reason for Troy Leavitt's departure could have been something completely different - family problems. The developer talked about the whole situation in a video addressed to his colleagues.
"I greatly appreciate all the efforts they have made in supporting my move to Nevada and helping me to try and work through a difficult situation with my family.
Unfortunately, things on that front have seriously deteriorated since the beginning of February of this year. I now see the situation as chronic and likely to be high maintenance into the foreseeable future. I do not believe I will be able to take care of the family issues in my life while still giving the project the care and attention it deserves.
That being said, I will continue to cheerlead Hogwarts Legacy from the sidelines as I wish for it to be gloriously successful.
More so, I truly believe that it will be," reads an excerpt from the resignation letter quoted in the video.
Hogwarts Legacy is the first full-fledged RPG set in the Harry Potter universe. It will be an open-world title in which we'll p[lay as a young student of magic at Hogwarts. The game is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The title was originally scheduled to launch later this year, but its release has been delayed to 2022 (for now, we do not know the exact date).
