Hogwarts Legacy Delayed Again on PS4 and XOne

The developers of Hogwarts Legacy have decided to postpone the game's release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to give themselves more time to polish the port.

Hogwarts Legacy has conquered PCs and 9th-gen consoles (i.e. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S). Unfortunately, we will still have to wait for the release on older platforms.

Avalanche Software and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced on their Discord server and Twitter, that Hogwarts Legacy will suffer a delay on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and will be released on those devices on May 5.

Previously, April 4 was cited as the release date for PS4 and Xbox One.. This means the developers have given themselves an extra month to fine-tune Hogwarts Legacy's version for eighth-gen devices.

The announcement on Discord did not elaborate on the reasons for the delay. It was limited to assurances that the developer is working hard to deliver Hogwarts Legacy on PS4 and XOne and ensure that players have the best possible experience on all platforms.

So we can only assume that the team encountered unforeseen problems, for example, with optimization on weaker devices.

Avalanche Software has not mentioned anything about the release of Hogwarts Legacy on the Nintendo Switch console. So we can assume that for now the game's release on this platform remains unthreatened and the title will be released as planned, i.e. on July 25.
