Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark Revealed in New Pokémon Legends: Arceus Trailer
In a newly refurbished version of a scary trailer from a few days ago, it is confirmed that Hisuian forms of Zorua and Zoroark will be found in the upcoming Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
Just a few days after releasing a mysterious found-footage style trailer, the Pokémon Company released a new, completely clear version of the trailer for Pokémon Legends: Arceus, showing off two new Pokémon forms. The previous trailer was full of static and the audio would constantly go in and out, but today’s trailer couldn’t be clearer. A cameraman takes the same camera through a snowy part of the former Sinnoh region, marveling at the stars and snow.
The previous trailer came to an abrupt end when a mysterious force or Pokémon attacked the cameraman. The footage was entirely static at this point, with only the voice of the victim giving any hint as to what was happening. Just before the attack, the cameraman described a mysterious new Pokémon that had a red tail, white fluffy fur, and looked adorable. Some fans speculated that this might be Hisuian Growlithe’s evolution, but the new video confirmed otherwise.
The clear video revealed that the mysterious Pokémon in question was a Hisuian Zorua, a new form of a Pokémon originally from Pokémon Black & White’s Unova region. Zorua’s evolution, Zoroark also appeared in the trailer with a new Hisuian form and seemed to be defending the Zorua with some kind of ghostly ability. According to Serebii, these new forms do appear to have ghost typing, along with normal typing, which is a never-before-seen combination. With only one weakness and three immunities, it’s sure to be an interesting one.
The addition of new Zorua and Zoroark forms double the amount of Pokémon found in Legends: Arceus that originally come from a generation of games past Diamond & Pearl. But it does continue the trend of giving these Pokémon new forms or evolutions, like Hisuian Braviary and Basculegion. It seems likely that this is the only way any Pokémon revealed past the original Diamond & Pearl games will find their way into Legends: Arceus.
It’s also worth noting that the description of the video explains that the iconic Professor Oak helped to restore the footage, perhaps confirming that this video was found during more modern Pokémon times, and not during the older time period that Legends: Arceus takes place in.
It’s already been shown that Pokémon will attack trainers in Legends: Arceus, but this latest trailer does strike a particularly frightening tone. It’s not clear what happens to the unlucky cameraman at the end of the trailer, but hopefully, like the players in Legends: Arceus, they are able to respawn at a nearby camp.
