Highly Rated Metroidvania Will Get a Sequel. It Looks as Beautiful and Dark as Original
Do you remember the game Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights? This highly praised title will get a sequel in the near future. Will Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist repeat the success of the original?
Hitting the market in 2021, Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights became a real hit. The dark fantasy-themed Metroidvania has received acclaim from both critics (with an average rating of 86/100 on Metacritic.com) and players (94% of reviews on Steam being positive).
It's not surprising that the publishers from Binary Haze Interactive and Live Wire studio decided to continue developing the series. The sequel, titled Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist will hit store shelves later this year. The title will be available (at least initially) exclusively on the Nintendo Switch console.
Feel free to check out the game trailer that was showcased during the latest Nintendo Direct presentation.
According to the information provided by the devs, Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist takes place several dozen years after the events of the first installment. Players will arrive in the Lands of Fumes, a realm where the threat comes from not only the toxic fumes surrounding it but also from lethal, machine-like creatures.
The main character of Bloom in the Mist will no longer be Lily, but Lilac - a girl who has the ability to heal the infected. The main character embarks on a quest to purify the land. The aforementioned opponents will try to prevent her from achieving this goal. Like the heroine of Quietus of the Knights, Lilac will be able to use the abilities of defeated enemies in combat.
Interestingly, the developers also worked on improving the combat system. As a result, players will now be able to equip their controlled character with up to four skills simultaneously during the game, whereas, in the previous game, they could only use a maximum of three skills within one set.
