Hideo Kojima on Working With Microsoft: Only They Understand My New Game

In a recent interview, Hideo Kojima provided a little insight into working with Microsoft on his new project. The creator stated that only the Redmond giant trusted him while others thought him „mad.”.

Hideo Kojima can undoubtedly not complain of boredom. At the moment, the Japanese actor is working on at least two projects - the highly anticipated Death Stranding 2 and a mysterious item based on the cloud and developed jointly with Microsoft.

Kojima recently gave an interview to IGN (via Eurogamer), in which he touched on the topic of cooperation with the American company. It turns out that he is very happy with the collaboration, because Microsoft is one of the few that understands that the project he is creating requires a proper technological backstage. Interestingly, in the creator's mind other companies, seeing his plans, even considered him mad.

"The project we're working on with Microsoft is one I have been thinking about for five or six years already. The project required infrastructure that was never needed before, so I discussed it with lots of different big companies and gave presentations, but they really seemed to think that I was mad. It was ultimately Microsoft who showed that they understood, and now we're working together on the project, including the technology front." - revealed Kojima in an interview.

The creator at the same time pointed out that he gets bored very easily, so video games are his favorite activity. The Japanese developer added that he wants to help in the already rapid evolution of modern technology.

|I tend to get bored easily. Part of the reason I've been able to make games for 30 years is that new technologies are replacing old ones so quickly. The technology you use today may not be applicable tomorrow, and I'm interested in finding ways to take advantage of new developments. The wrong choice can, of course, end in failure. It's a bit like a space program," the Japanese added.

At this point, little is known about the aforementioned mysterious project. It is speculated that it may be a horror game called Overdose. A few weeks ago a gameplay showing the heroine moving through the dark corridors of something that evokes a laboratory was leaked on the web. Either way, however, we should not set ourselves up for an imminent release of this project.
