Hideo Kojima has Bad News for Metal Gear Solid Fans
During the last episode of his original podcast series, Hideo Kojima provided some interesting information. Unfortunately, you will not be happy with some of them. Among other things, the creator referred to the work on the Metal Gear Solid brand.
Almost every appearance of Hideo Kojima on social media causes a great stir and all sorts of speculation among the fans. It's hardly surprising, by the way - it's long been known that the creator likes to play cat-and-mouse with people.
Particularly many theories in recent years have arisen around Metal Gear Solid, the brand that has, in a way, made the Japanese creator the gaming industry legend that he is. The last official installment of the espionage saga was Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain released in 2015. After its release, Kojima parted ways with Konami, but this in no way silenced the rumors about a potential remake of the third installment, which allegedly would be worked on by Virtuos. Apparently, the inquisitiveness of fans of the iconic series gave Kojima such a hard time that he decided to dispel all doubts.
As reported by GameRant, based on a tweet by user Nitroid, during a recent episode of the Brain Structure podcast the developer explained that there is no chance of a follow up to the brand, which was born in 1987, with him at the helm. Nevertheless, Kojima appreciated the requests of gamers dreaming of another installment of Metal Gear Solid.
Interestingly, this was not the only message the game designer had to share with his audience. He also addressed, among other things, rumors regarding the alleged exclusivity of the sequel to Death Stranding for Stadia and involvement in the work on the survival horror game Abandoned. Kojima categorically rejected all these suggestions, and called the fan theories "disruptive."
