During the June Next Fest on Steam, we had the opportunity to play the demo of Heart of the Machine, a turn-based 4X strategy game from Arcen Games studio. Hooded Horse is responsible for releasing the game, and alongside Manor Lords and Norland, it has the potential to become another gem in the portfolio of this highly successful company. A new trailer for the title was released today, also revealing the release date. You can watch it below.
Heart of the Machine will be released in Early Access on January 31, 2025. The game will be available exclusively on PC - on platforms such as Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
Furthermore, a new 2.87 GB demo of the game has been made available in the Valve store, featuring many new features. It offers, among other things, a completely rewritten prologue, which includes three main paths with different variants, a new user interface, as well as hacking, morale, and debate systems. You can read the full list of changes in the developers' post.
Let's remember that in the Heart of the Machine, we step in the shoes of a powerful artificial intelligence that we can control according to our will. There is nothing to prevent you from becoming a ruthless machine, responsible for the annihilation of all humanity, or, on the contrary, a merciful god with a huge horde of fanatical followers.
The action of the game takes place in a vast city consisting of both manually created elements and those procedurally generated. During the game, we build and take over new buildings such as laboratories, military bases, and factories, which provide us with new development opportunities. The title offers considerable freedom of action, and the world dynamically changes according to our doings.
