„He Wanted That Show to Go on Forever”. Tim Allen Reportedly Blames Another The Home Improvement Star for the End the TV Series
Tim Allen reportedly loved playing in Home Improvement and was disappointed to have to end the TV series after Patricia Richardson's departure.
In the 1990s, sitcoms reigned supreme on television. The star of one of them was Tim Allen, who was the face of the series The Home Improvement. The production zoomed in on the life of a family whose head was Tim Taylor who was a TV star with his own home improvement show. In addition to his career, the sitcom zoomed in on the Taylors' family adventures, where Tim dealt with the problems of his relatives with innate dexterity.
The Home Improvement was loved not only by viewers, but also by Tim Allen himself, who wanted the TV series to last as long as possible. Unfortunately, it ended after eight seasons; the ninth was no longer possible, as one of its stars, Patricia Richardson, who played Tim's wife Jill Taylor, left the show. Allen must have been disappointed by this decision.
In an interview with ET Online, the actress confessed that she thinks Tim Allen is blaming her for ending the TV show. However, she had to give up her role because after eight years she was tired of it and decided it was time to part ways with Jill. So she didn't give in to the persuasions of the network and Allen and didn't sign on for another season.
[He had] never really forgiven me for not wanting to do the ninth year. He loved Tim Taylor. Tim Taylor was this happily married man with his great boys and great life, and so he wanted that show to go on forever.
After Richardson's departure, everyone had to say goodbye to the production. Although it was considered whether to kill Jill and continue The Home Improvement without Richardson, Allen rejected the idea and came to terms with the fact that it was time to part ways with the sitcom. So, fans were left to revisit the eight seasons that had been made and were well-reviewed by audiences. And Allen and the rest of the cast are left with memories of eight years of working on the production.
