Haystacks, Hidden Blade - That's Why We Loved Assassin's Creed 1
An Assassin's Creed fan, inspired by the first installment of the series, created a short comic strip. The community fell in love with the art style at first sight.
Though the Assassin's Creed series has its official comic books, one player inspired by the first installment decided to create his own. Reactions from the community were so positive that some even wished him a job at Ubisoft.
Comic full of details
When replaying Assassin's Creedm HazemAmeen decided to create an illustration that reminds us of the key features of the series.
On the three panels we can not only see AC1's three cities - Jerusalem, Akka and Damascus, but also the characteristic hidden blade, haystack landings or direct combat with enemies. The main character of the minicomic, as you might guess, is Altair.
It must be admitted that the work looks amazing and that exactly the reception it met. You can see the comic in full resolution at this link.
Player reactions
Among the opinions of players, there was no shortage of those that compared HazemAmeen's work to the official comics available on the market. However, the community does not put the two graphic styles on an equal footing, and according to them, the fan comic looks much better.
"Fantastic. They look better than any official AC comic, I'm not kidding," wrote Assassiiinuss.
"Oh man, this is gold. By the way, congratulations on your future job offer at Ubi," wrote HarpoMarxDH.
"Jeez, this is amazing! OP you are incredibly talented. Do you publish any of your comics, perhaps? I would love to review them," wrote ajl987.
If you are also curious about HazemAmeen's work, it would be a shame not to mention that he created The Shrines of Araartu: An Illustrated Fantasy book, his own original comic book. You can view the artist's portfolio on his profile on Art Station, and you can find his game-related works here.
