Hades 2 Announced; Trailer Presents New Heroine

One of the games presented at The Game Awards 2022 gala was Hades 2, the sequel to the excellent roguelike by Supergiant Games.

The Game Awards 2022 gala was full of surprises. The first of the major surprises was the announcement of Hades 2 - the continuation of Supergiant Games's excellent roguelike. Interestingly, this is the first sequel in the output of this developer. You can watch the trailer presented at the show below.

At first, you might have thought we were dealing with DLC. After all, the game looks very similar to the previous one - the action will be observed in isometric view, and moreover, the same graphic style has been retained.

So what has changed? The protagonist - or rather, the heroine. She is Underworld Princess (possibly Kora, although her name was not given), who sets out on a mission to kill Kronos - the mythological titan of time. In fulfilling it, the protagonist will use the powers of more than twelve Greek gods - a much larger number than Zagreus known from the prequel. The latter will perhaps appear in the game as an NPC - as the developers have announced the return of many familiar characters.

In general, everything indicates that we are in for more of the same as we know from the original. Privately, I am very pleased, as I think it was more than good.

When is the premiere? The title is scheduled to debut in early access in 2023 - initially only on PC (both on Steam and Epic Games Store), but the full version of Hades 2 will also be released on other platforms (i.e. probably consoles). So it remains to wait for more information.
