UFOs Started Appearing in GTA Online

Grand Theft Auto Online players have started encountering UFOs. This is most likely a prologue to the upcoming attractions that await us during this year's Halloween.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. UFOs have started appearing in GTA Online;
  2. Flying saucers can only be spotted at night at certain times and locations;
  3. This is the first stage of attractions prepared for this year's Halloween.

One of the reasons for the enduring popularity of Grand Theft Auto Online is that there's always something going on in the game, and Rockstar Games provides fresh attractions on a regular basis. The latest is the appearance of UFOs.

The arrival of aliens kicks off this year's series of events related to Halloween. Every day until October 21, unidentified flying objects will appear in different parts of the world of Grand Theft Auto Online. This only happens when it's nighttime in the game and only in certain hours (between 10 pm and 3 am according to the clock in GTAO), so spotting a UFO takes some effort. Such encounters are brief and not very interactive, so they are most likely just a prelude to more impressive upcoming attractions.

Currently, when players approach the alien craft on foot, it disappears, accompanied by lightning. If they approach in a vehicle or helicopter/plane, their machine will also briefly lose power, recreating an effect familiar from many stories of alien encounters. You can see how such close encounters of the second kind look like in the video below.

Last year's Halloween events offered discounts, bonus rewards, special gameplay modes and cosmetic items. We hope that this year's edition will offer a similar scale of attractions.
