Voice Actor Brags About Being Hired as Policeman for New GTA
Voice actor Dave Jackson boasted on Facebook that he has been hired by Rockstar Games to play a police captain named McClane in the new installment of the Grand Theft Auto series. Could this be GTA 6?
You may say "Oh, it's GTA 6 again" when you see more and more rumors about the new installment of the iconic series from Rockstar Games. Insiders constantly throw around unconfirmed information about the release date, world map or radio stations, while players look for nods and easter eggs in the developers' vacation photos or in the content of Red Dead Redemption II. This time news of a different calibre has emerged - voice actor Dave Jackson bragged on Facebook that he has been hired by Rockstar to play a police captain named McClane in the new installment of Grand Theft Auto. You can find the content of his post in the screenshot below.
When asked about the game's title, Jackson admitted that it hasn't been revealed to him, but he hopes it's GTA 6 (see screenshot below). But even if it's not, and the project turns out to be new content for GTA Online, he's hoping to appear in GTA 6 anyway because, he says, his voice appealed to the company for some reason.
Some may be shaking their heads right now, convinced that Jackson will have to pay a hefty fine for breaching NDA. However, if we are to believe the man involved (see next screenshot), as long as he doesn't reveal anything about the plot of the game he's working on, he won't be fined. However, this seems strange, because Rockstar Games is used to quite rigorously follow this type of restrictions.
This is not the first time that a voice actor brags about his involvement in the development of - allegedly - GTA 6. In March last year, Jorge Consejo added an entry to his portfolio with the information that he provided a voice for a character described as "The Mexican" in the upcoming Grand Theft Auto. That, and today's news, may suggest that work on GTA 6 is at a more advanced stage than anyone is willing to believe. It's possible that the title will be officially announced out of the blue, and it's rumored to happen at a GTA Online event just as Call of Duty: Vanguard was announced last week during a CoD: Warzone event. Until that happens, we should take this kind of information with a grain of salt.
