GTA 6 an PS5 Exclusive?
There are rumors about the possible acquisition of Take-Two Interactive by Sony. If these rumors are confirmed, Sony may gain exclusive brands such as Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption and Borderlands.
Information about company acquisitions always attracts attention, especially if it concerns the developer of AN (podkreslenie, zeby bylo widac) iconic series, as was the case with the purchase of Obsidian Entertainment studio by Microsoft. This is nothing compared to the latest rumors about the actions of the biggest rival of Microsoft. According to MarketWatch, rumors are circulating on the US stock exchange about the acquisition of Take-Two by Sony. Discussions are already taking place between the management boards of both companies, which would mean that they are at a very advanced stage and could soon reach a final agreement. According to analysts' estimates, this would increase the value of Sony's shares to $130 per piece. For the time being, this has resulted in a 4.7% increase in the price of Take-Two's shares.
Obviously, these are still just rumors and should not be treated differently until official information will be available. However, if these rumors turned out to be true, it would be the biggest takeover in the gaming market in recent years. Take-Two Interactive is one of the leading publishers in the industry, with a huge catalogue of recognizable brands: NBA 2K, Sid Meier's Civilization, Mafia, BioShock, Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, and many more. Especially these last series turned out to be a cash cow - Red Dead Redemption 2 was the undisputed winner of 2018, and GTA remains one of the most famous and best-earning series of video games..
But what can this takeover mean for players? It's no secret that Sony is committed to providing outstanding exclusive titles for its consoles. After all, it's the highly rated bestsellers like Bloodborne, Uncharted 4 or last year's - God of War and Spider-Man are one of the main reasons why many players choose PlayStation 4 instead of competing platforms. Perhaps Sony is already planning an offensive on another console and is looking for potential exclusives for the fifth PlayStation. And what would encourage potential buyers better than the announcement of GTA 6 or the new RDR, of course only on PS5? For the time being, however, these are only speculations based on unconfirmed rumors and, as always, we recommend not to treat them as facts before obtaining official information.
