Gran Turismo Sport Pulled From Sale; No Longer Available on PS Store
Gran Turismo Sport is no longer available on PlayStation Store, but the players can still play online for a month.
On January 1 Gran Turismo Sport was pulled from PlayStation Store. The game's card in the store still exists, but there is no option to purchase the title. The game appears as "announced" instead of "available" (via Reddit).
Polyphony Digital neither announced nor addressed the game's sudden removal from the store (via Gran Turismo's official website). Admittedly, back in September, the developer announced shutting down the servers of GT Sport, but this is not expected to happen until January 31.
There was also no mention of plans to withdraw the game from sale at the time (the option to purchase DLC disappeared from the store already in early December). Instead, it was confirmed that it will still be possible to play Gran Turismo Sport without an Internet connection.
Nevertheless, this decision (still unconfirmed officially) is not unusual. Racing game publishers tend to withdraw their games from sale relatively quickly, sometimes after barely a few years. This usually has to do with the expiration of licenses for car models (or the game's soundtrack).
Nonetheless, usually developers warn players of the planned sales halt, and - as mentioned - Polyphony Digital still hasn't released any information about this.
Let's mention that GT Sport is still available for those who have purchased the game. The online mode is also still running, as the developer announced.
