Gran Turismo 7 Patch 1.11 Goes Live; Grind Made Bearable
Polyphony Digital released patch 1.11 for Gran Turismo 7. As promised, the amount of money received for races (and more) has been drastically increased, and new events with high rewards have been added. In addition, car purchases have been made easier and car physics have been improved.
Polyphony Digital has kept its word. The team has just released another sizable patch for Gran Turismo 7, numbered 1.11. and weighing in at almost a gigabyte. The changes in this patch are the fulfillment of what was promised at the end of March in response to the storm that the players unleashed after patch 1.07, when the developer lowered rewards for the most lucrative professions... throwing away all pretence and betraying all desire to push users into the embrace of microtransactions. Now the developers are trying desperately to save their image.
Gran Turismo 7 Patch 1.11 - Important Changes
Below I list the most important changes introduced by the patch. You can take a look at the full list here.
- The rewards in multiplayer mode have been increased, as have the rewards for many of the events in the World Circuit, including the Custom Races. Now it is not uncommon to get over 100k credits for a victory. (not including bonuses for clean driving).
- Three new races have been added, some of which are quite long (12 laps on the Tokyo Expressway, for example), but with rewards of around 500k credits for finishing first.
- A new Mission category has been added, featuring endurance races where the payout for winning is over one million credits. To unlock it, you need to reach collector level 23.
- The rewards for Practice on Track have been increased greatly.. For example, for completing all exercises on the Nurburgring Nordschleife for a gold medal, you will receive 5 million credits, and on Brands Hatch - 600k credits. The money can also be collected if you have already completed these challenges.
- Increased the number of cars available for purchase from Legendary (up to 10) and Used (up to 30) model dealers.
- Invitations to buy exclusive cars in Brand Central now expire after 30 days (instead of 14).
- The vehicle physics have been improved so that no more bizarre situations occur on landing, e.g. when jumping on gravel tracks.
- The maximum number of "free" credits you can hold in your wallet has been raised - from 20 million to 100 million.
What's next.
Even before the end of April, we are expecting more big changes in Gran Turismo 7. The following was promised in the news at the end of March:
- New routes and cars,
- Option to sell owned vehicles,
- More competitions on world tracks,
- Network time trials, where the best players can expect the greatest rewards.
Finally, a reminder for those who have purchased Gran Turismo 7 before March 25th - you can still claim the one million credits - it's a compensation for the "punitive damages" caused by the changes in patch 1.07, and will no longer be available after April 25th.
What do you think about patch 1.11? Is it a step in the right direction? Or is Polyphony Digital going from one extreme to the other, and now there is a risk that players will find it too easy to get everything, just like in Forza Horizon 5? Share your thoughts in the comments.
