Gran Turismo 7 Won't be Released Until 2022
PlayStation boss Jim Ryan confirmed in an interview that the highly anticipated Gran Turismo 7 will not be released on time, suffering a delay by a year. This is the first official delay of the game's release since its announcement.
Over the years, Gran Turismo fans have grown accustomed to the constant delays of games from the series. Polyphony Digital, known for its perfectionism, traditionally works at its own pace, not looking at the competition. In an interview with GQ magazine, PlsyStation's Jim Ryan confirmed that Gran Turismo 7 had to be delayed until 2022. However, he didn't specify whether he was referring to the first or second half of the year. According to the head of the PlayStation franchise, the date change is caused by complications in the development process due to the global pandemic.
The devs have so far given only an approximate release date for Gran Turismo 7. From the promotional materials published a few months ago, we could learn that we should expect the game in 2021. Leaks from Sony's business partners circulating around the web additionally pointed to an autumn release.
