- GOG without official support for Steam Deck;
- This does not mean, however, that we will be unable to play games from CD Projekt's library on Valve's portable platform;
- To play them, we will need to install Windows on the device.
Steam Deck will enable its users to freely run any game from Valve's library. However, Steam is not the only platform of this kind on the market.
Some gamers have begun to wonder if the device will support games running from other sources, such as GOG. The author of the MetalJesusRocks channel asked about this on Twitter.
He did not have to wait long for a response from GOG's official account.
Unfortunately, the message leaves no illusions. Officially, GOG will not offer support for Steam Deck. This does not mean, however, that you will be unable to run games from the game library of this service on this portable platform.
Valve's device has an open architecture, and as a result, it will allow for the installation of Windows, which can be used instead of the default Linux installed. Running on Microsoft's system, Steam Deck should allow for seamless gaming via GOG.
It is worth mentioning that the first copies of Valve's device will be sent to buyers in a few days, on February 28th to be exact. Before that Steam Deck was tested by developers.
Their impressions are generally positive. According to some, working with the device is very easy, and individual games work very well even without making changes to them.
