New Video From God of War Ragnarok Discusses Plot

The developers of God of War: Ragnarok will be releasing videos over the next few weeks, introducing various aspects of the upcoming game. The first footage discusses the plot and how it will play out in Kratos' new adventure.

Sony has published the first video in a new nine-part series designed to introduce the upcoming God of War: Ragnarok. The footage is to appear over the next nine weeks and will show the various aspects of the game along with the development process. We're talking about elements like the combat system, the soundtrack or the story - the latter being the subject of today's video.

The video gives an overview of the story of God of War: Ragnarok and the way in which it was conducted. The video shows the long development of the sequel to the Norse saga from the inside out. As noted in the post on the PlayStation blog accompanying the video, there are people behind each creation and they have their own stories to tell. For example, those responsible for the dialogue lines faced an unusual challenge. Actor Sunny Suljic, who provides the voice of Atreus in the English version, entered puberty during the development process and his voice changed along the way, so at one point the team needed to go back to the recordings obtained at the beginning and rework them.

The video series will also explore nine lands of the Nordic world. Next week there will be a closer look at the combat model in the land of the elves - Alfheim.

The release of God of War: Ragnarok will take place on November 9, on PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles, and the game can be pre-ordered.
