Ghostrunner Meets With Warm Reception on Steam
Ghostrunner made a successful debut, at least on Steam. Yesterday, at the hottest moment of the day, more than 11,000 people were playing the game from One More Level on Valve's platform. The title also receives positive feedback from the community.
One of the most important news of the previous day in the video game industry was undoubtedly another delay of Cyberpunk 2077. However, fans of the dystopian future received some consolation. Also yesterday, we've seen tha launch of Ghostrunner, and we have to admit that this debut turned out quite well. According to SteamDB, at the hottest moment of the day, only on Steam, this first-person action game from the Polish studio One More Level (responsible for last year's God's Triggeramong others) was played by 11,294 people. On Twitch, however, the number of viewers watching streams from the game exceeded 80 thousand at one point.
Ghostrunner's popularity is accompanied by a positive response from the players. 83% of the nearly 1.5 thousand opinions on Steam are positive. Roughly speaking, the players agree with the review, which we had a chance to read earlier this week. They praise, among other things, the dynamic, the multitude of mechanics, the addictive and demanding gameplay, and the palpable, cyberpunk atmosphere intensified by the audiovisuals.
"It's Mirrors Edge, Dishonored, and Superhot mixed in one :O," reads the opinion left by user seppe.
However, as predicted by the critics, not all players liked the high level of difficulty, resulting from the fact that one hit causes death. There are also some complaints about some fragments of narrative standstill and a slightly disappointing story.
If you would like to see for yourself whether Ghostrunner deserves praise or criticism, you may be interested in the demo version. You can find it on Steam and GOG. In addition to PC, the title is also available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It will also launch on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
