Devs Waived Royalties From Ghostrunner Sales
505 Games has become the exclusive owner of the rights to the Ghostrunner brand. The publisher has paid One More Level and All In! Games for waiving royalties from sales of the game.
A year ago we wrote about 505 Games taking over the Ghostrunner brand. According to that agreement, the Polish studio One More Level and the company All In! Games have retained the rights to the royalties. Now, as reported by Inwestycje.pl [in Polish] the situation has changed.
- The parties have signed a new agreement, under which One More Level and All In! Games waived further royalties from the game.
- Thus, 505 Games became the sole owner of all rights to Ghostrunner.
- In return, One More Level will receive Euro 1.04 million and All In! Games - Euro 1.56 million.
- As part of the agreement, the One More Level has also been released from the obligation to do any further work on Ghostrunner.
505 Games has acquired the rights to Ghostrunner for 5 million euro. The company bought the brand with the idea of developing it further. In May last year a continuation was announced. At that time, it was reported that its development was entrusted once again to One More Level. We do not know whether the new agreement changes anything in this regard.
Let's recall that Ghostrunner was released in October 2020 on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and two months later a version for Nintendo Switch was released. In turn, in September last year, dedicated versions were released for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
The game proved to be quite a box office success. Within the first two months of its release over half a million copies were sold, thus significantly surpassing the internal forecasts of All In! Games, which assumed the result at the level of 400 thousand.
Finally, it's worth mentioning that last month saw the debut of a major expansion called Ghostrunner: Project_Hel, enabling us to play as one of the bosses from the base game.
