Summer Game Fest Host Tempers Excessive Hype Ahead of Big Show

Summer Game Fest will not be full of announcements, contrary to the crazy rumors, as addressed by journalist Geoff Keighley.

Recent months have not been full of major launches, or even major announcements. That's why many look up to this year's game shows, especially Microsoft's, which apparently has so much to present that it broke up its broadcast into two parts.

However, not all events will bring with them announcements of new games. Geoff Keighley recommended that viewers "temper their expectations" for the Summer Game Fest 2022 event. In doing so, he referred to, as he put it, crazy rumors about the show circulating online.

During the broadcast on Twitter Spaces (via Video Games Chronicle) he stated that he was "excited" about the attractions prepared for this year's edition of the event. However, although we will see not only indies, but also "huge games", this year's Summer Game Fest will focus on titles already announced, such as The Callisto Protocol, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and DLC for Cuphead.

This doesn't mean that there won't be any new titles, but Keighley's statement suggests that they will either be minor projects or we won't see much of them. What the organizers are actually preparing, we'll find out soon.

Broadcast of the Summer Game Fest 2022 event will begin on June 9 at 11 am PT. Keighley expects the show to last about an hour and a half to two hours, so get ready for a long and (hopefully) interesting screening.
