Garry's Mod 2 in the Works; May Use Half-Life: Alyx Engine
Garry Newman - a developer known for creating Garry's Mod, a modification for Half-Life 2, which was later released as a standalone title - announced that he was working on a new version of his mod.
IN A NUTSHELL:
- The creator of Garry's Mod will most probably create a new version of his work;
- It is uncertain what will be changed from the original, but it seems likely that the project will be based on Source 2 engine.
Garry Newman, the creator of Garry's Mod - a popular title that was born as a mod for Half-Life 2 and then became a standalone product - has published a post on Twitter, which can be considered as an announcement of a new version of his work. Unfortunately, for the time being we don't know what differences can be expected from it, but it seems to be based on the latest version of the Source engine used in Half-Life: Alyx. Therefore, support for VR goggles is also possible, especially since the concept of Garry's Mod's (more about it in the box below) fits this technology perfectly.
Garry's Mod is a kind of sandbox that enables the users to play with different elements of the environment and the advanced physics system, for which the engine created by Valve Software was originally known. The gameplay has no specific purpose, nor will we find any story campaign in the game. Instead, we can place various objects and characters in the game world to implement our own projects and ideas.
