Gamescom 2022 in Numbers

Gamescom organizers boasted that more than a quarter of a million visitors attended this year's edition of the fair.

Yesterday, gamescom 2022 came to an end. In terms of new games announced, it did not meet all the expectations, but this did not prevent the fair from achieving impressive results.

  1. This year's edition of the event was visited by more than 250,000 visitors.
  2. About 1,100 exhibitors from 53 countries showed up at the exhibition halls.
  3. Coverage of the event was also popular online - the Opening Night Live show was viewed more than 12 million times, and all gamescom 2022 footage was viewed more than 130 million times..

It is clear that many people were thirsty for a fair atmosphere. The results of this year's edition, however, were far from those from the glory days. Only the first edition of gamescom, held in 2009, attracted fewer visitors than this year's. Three years ago, in the last fair that took place before the pandemic hit, the halls in Cologne were visited by 373,000 people.

Despite this, this year's results should still please the organizers, as the pandemic situation has still not normalized, and the number of visitors shows that further editions of the event still make sense.

Gamescom 2023 - we know the date

It is worth mentioning that the next edition of gamescom has already been announced. It will be held from August 23 to August 27, 2023. The day before, another Opening Night Live presentation will be organized.

Thirsty for new material and announcements, however, gamers won't have to wait until next year for such attractions. There are many indications that the PlayStation Showcase will be held on September 8, and the. Ubisoft Forward presentation is announced for September 10. In turn, on December 8 we will see the next edition of The Game Awards.
