Xbox Live is Down: Users Wonder Why They Can't Sign In. Microsoft is Working on the Solution
There has been a crash of the Xbox servers. Players are having problems logging in, launching games, and joining friends.
Just yesterday we informed you about the PlayStation Network outage, and today the same thing happened to Xbox services. Microsoft has issued an official announcement saying that it is working on a solution to the problem that prevents users from logging in and running games.
Xbox network failure
When we go to the Xbox support page, we see that there is a "major outage" in three services:
- account and profile;
- friends and social activity;
- cloud gaming and remote play.
This means that players using Game Pass, for example, don't currently have access to it. When trying to log in, a message appears saying "there are problems with Xbox services." The failure was reported at 3:40 a.m. PT, which is over 2 hours ago, so there is a good chance that it won't last long.
Some players have already reported on Reddit that the network started working properly in their case. For now, these are individual cases and it is unlikely to happen to everyone at once, but it is definitely a good sign.
In the end, it's worth reminding that this is not the first failure of this type in the Xbox network. The previous one happened in July, and players then lost access to their game library for 6 hours, which sparked lively discussions about the sometimes sad necessity of being "always online."
