FUT Rulebreakers Event Launches in FIFA 21
Today at 10 AM PT, FIFA 21 will host the first major special event called „Rulebreakers”. What can we expect from it?
The first big event in Ultimate Team mode in FIFA 21 is scheduled to start at 10 AM PT EA decided to share with us some very puzzling information about the upcoming event called "Rulebreakers". We invite you to discuss it.
For a couple of days now, mysterious loading screens have been appearing in the game, announcing the upcoming event. As per tradition, EA showed us three cards of the best players from the upcoming thematic special team and residual attributes of one of them. At the beginning we found out that it will be Napoli's striker, which made many people wonder if it wasn't Arkadiusz Milik, because that would be indicated by the statistics on the card. However, the matter was explained by a tweet from EA Sports, thanks to which we know (based on nationality and a few other attributes) that it will be not the Pole, but a Belgian. Everything indicates that one special card will be given to Dries Mertens from Napoli, the second one will most likely go to Harry Kane from Tottenham and the third to an unspecified player from Brazil.
From the further part of the entry we also learned that "Rulebreakers" will consist in players selected by EA receiving special cards, which will change their style and character of gameplay. Usually the team created for different events taking place in Ultimate Team consists of 23 such cards. In this case, the selected players, previously slow but strong, will now be slightly slimmed down, but will be given great speed. Agile dribblers, on the other hand, will start to shoot better or become more stable. This is supposed to change the status quo in Ultimate Team a little bit and cause an interesting change in the usability of individual players.
Special cards of players from "Rulebreakers" team will probably be available in packs or acquired by performing thematic squad building challenges. Most likely, we will also unlock a few of them as part of special weekly tasks.
EA will surely also prepare many attractions for players connected with the upcoming event. Based on what we've seen in the past, we can expect different line-up building challenges or thematic weekly tasks where we can unlock packs, players from the "Rulebreakres" team or cosmetic elements such as costumes or stadium personalization cards. There should also be a time-limited promotion for certain packs in the in-game shop.
It is unknown whether the event will replace the traditional halloween event called "Ultimate Scream" appearing in FIFA every year since FIFA 17, which usually took place last Friday before that day.
FIFA 21 debuted on PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch on October 9, this year. The release date on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S is not yet known, but it is speculated that this will happen near the release of new consoles.
