Friday the 13th: The Game to feature single player, but not coming this year
We have some good and bad news for the fans of Friday the 13th: The Game. This asymmetrical online game has grown to also include a full-fledged single player. Sadly though, this has caused a delay to 2017.
Friday the 13th: The Game was intended to be an asymmetrical online experience, but it turns out it will also bring something nice for lone wolves. And no, we aren’t just talking about offline gameplay with bots – the developers at Gun Media and Illfonic announced a full-fledged single player campaign with several missions inspired by the Friday the 13th films. However, this also means that the game will not make it out this fall as it was expected, and the release has been postponed to spring 2017.
But it’s actually more complicated than that. The closed beta for Kickstarter backers (and their friends) starts later this year, whereas the multiplayer version is to launch in early 2017 (with another playable character and the third map). As for the single player mode, it is scheduled for release in summer 2017, and will be available for free for those who will have pre-ordered the game. Another change is the price. Since the game has grown, its price will also increase from $30 to $40.
