FNAF Security Breach Ruin – The Mimic Explained
The Mimic is a character which is well known in novels. In them, it is an animatronic who was originally built to accompany David, the son of Edwin – one of Fazbear Entertainment engineers. This exoskeleton was designed to mimic other animatronics, but it quickly started to learn from humans, too. After a tragic death of David, at some point, grieving Edwin beat the Mimic and infused his feelings into him. It changed the animatronic, who became a killer.
However, it is worth to mention, that presented above piece of lore is form the novels. There is a great discussion among fans regarding the case if they are canonical or not. What is more, games’ world is not the same as the books’. It means that some details may be different in both medias. Sadly, we do not know a lot about Mimic in games, so we need to wait for this story to develop more.
In FNAF SB Ruin, the Mimic is a main antagonist who lures Cassie into Pizzaplex, pretending to be Gregory. The protagonist encounters this animatronic at the end of the game. It is impossible to defeat it, the only thing you can do is to run away and listen to Gregory’s (the real one) instructions.
