Action RPG Flintlock Devs Evade AAA-filled Second Half of 2023

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn will not be released this year. Aurora44 needs more time to polish the game (and perhaps more distance form competition) before it is ready to release its new project.

The second half of 2023 promises to be hot for gamers, especially after the announcements of the past few weeks and the recent presentations from big publishers. Perhaps that is why developers of Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn have postponed the release of their latest game to next year.

Officially, A44 made the decision because, as is usually the case, the developer wants to guarantee the "best possible experience" of the game, to make it "something special" for players. In other words, the devs need more time to polish the project, before it will be ready for release (via Twitter).

Despite these assurances, it's possible that the team also didn't want to risk a release during a launch season for big and highly anticipated productions. The second half of the year will bring us the debuts of such potential hit as Starfield, Alan Wake 2, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Assassin's Creed Mirage. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. By December, there will be many big and small titles that could distract gamers from the (after all) modest project from A44.

As a consolation, the devs assured that we will soon receive new information on Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn. No exact date was given, but let's hope that the developers will keep their word and not make us wait too long.
