Filming of Borderlands Movie Wraps Up
Shooting of the Borderlands movie is over. On this occasion, the filmmakers presented the appearance of Claptrap, one of the franchise's mascots.
Ten days ago Randy Pitchford, head of Gearbox Software, boasted that shooting for the movie adaptation of the Borderlands series, of which he is one of the producers, is 60% complete. This last stretch was covered quite quickly. as the creators of the film based on the popular FPS series have just officially announced that work on set has been completed (via Engadget). Now the title awaits post-production.
On this occasion, a picture has appeared online showing how Claptrap will look like in the upcoming production (earlier we could only admire its silhouette on one of the stills). This talkative machine, whose voice will be provided by Jack Black, will surely provide a few funny scenes.
The Borderlands movie will tell the story of Lilith, a treasure hunter who will return to her home planet Pandora and will try to find her daughter, Atlas. In order to do that, she'll ally herself with Roland, who used to be a respected soldier, a young girl known as Tiny Tina and her muscular bodyguard Krieg, a scholar by the name of Tannis, and the aforementioned Claptrap. Along the way, the heroes will have to face numerous monsters and dangerous bandits.
Borderlands movie will feature, among others, Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Ariana Greenblatt, Florian Munteanu and Jamie Lee Curtis. The movie is directed by Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel). As for now, we don't know when the official premiere will take place.
